Val
Once riding the bus through Shady Side, a lady named Val sat next to me. She seemed very timid and looked very ill. From my first glance of her I assumed she had cancer. She never told me what was wrong with her, I never found out if she had cancer. But as we sat together, she gave me friendly hello. I responded back and we started a short but very memorable conversation. She told me about all the places she goes to like art galleries and we talked about the zoo. Not being a native of Pittsburgh, I often like to hear about places to go since I will be living here the next 4 years. She asked where I went to school and what I was doing, she seemed very interested in my life. Ever since then, I always hope to run into her again. Maybe she will remember me, maybe she will not but for some reason she stuck to my memory. The thing that was most memorable was how happy she seemed. At least if she is ill, she is living her life happily.
